What styles do we teach?

It is important to note here that every class is open to every student regardless of experience or depth of practice. However the classes are designed to ideally build on one another so that your experience can grow and expand as you do. But we appreciate that life can be busy so you may not always we able to make your ideal class, so feel free to join us at any level.

  •  No bookings required.
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
  • Bring your own yoga mat or use one of our complimentary yoga mats.
  • Please make your teacher aware before the class of any health concerns or injuries.
  • Please hydrate before the class and ideally refrain from eating anything heavy for at least 2-4 hours prior to class.
  • Bring a hand towel for Lev 1 – 3 classes.

Strengthen & Align

An active & flowing class that focuses on postural alignment, strength and endurance of both mind and body. The postures are held for longer to allow you to gain confidence in your practice and feel the key alignment principles. Includes meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) practices. Suitable for beginners and all levels.

Sweat & Flow

An active flowing class that builds on Strengthen & Align. Slightly more advanced postures, transitions, alignment and cardio vascular focus. The class flows more quickly and includes deeper meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) practices. Suitable for all those with a regular yoga practice.

The Complete Practice

A strong, active and dynamic flowing class. Builds on Strengthen & Align and Sweat & Flow. More advanced asanas & posture refinement. Includes deeper meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) practices. Suitable for those with a strong practice.

Yin Yoga

This is a truly delicious practice designed to release tension in the body and mind by applying long, deep and passive postures. Yin yoga that targets the body’s deep connective tissue (fascia) including, ligaments, tendons, bones and joints. The aim of Yin classes is to increase overall health and flexibility by maintaining or increasing joint range of motion, releasing tension, improving circulation and repairing damaged fascia. You are encouraged to turn your attention inward and turn your practice into a moving meditation. It is the perfect and essential balance to our very active lifestyles (Yang) and serves to help re-balance the body’s energy and calm the mind. It is accessible to anyone of any age regardless of yoga experience.

Pre Natal Yoga

Pre Natal yoga is conducted in small groups and in a non-heated room. You will be guided through a practice designed specifically for you and your growing baby with a focus on the key milestones to consider throughout your pregnancy and practices that will help prepare you for the birth.You may join this class at any stage of your pregnancy provided you have checked with your doctor. No bookings are required.


Learn how to create the perfect conditions for the nervous system to rest and restore helping you to feel happier and less stressed. We explore different styles and techniques of meditation and pranayama (breathing) in an effortless and accessible way. Enquire into why we meditate, how to meditate and how to begin and maintain a home practice. We delve deeply into the heart of our Yoga practice through discussion on Yogic philosophy, unpacking with curiosity the richness of this 5000 year old tradition. For all levels of experience.


This class is a monthly offering and will feature a unique experience/learning designed to draw you deeper into YOGA AS A LIFESTYLE exploring what it means to live a blissful, connected, conscious life. From the urge to eat consciously, care for ourselves and the planet, to learn how to move beyond the limitations of the ego, to free ourselves to experience the bliss of existence.

Kids & Yoga

Our school is dedicated to creating rich, powerful and joyful experiences for our students.

To ensure our mini yogis start their journey in a safe, nurturing and appropriate foundation we offer the following guidelines for class or workshop attendance:

  • The minimum age of a mini yogi to attend class 13 years.
  • Participation is at the discretion of the teacher at time the of class.
  • The mini yogi must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.
  • It is important to understand why the young person is attending and prior experience in asana / mindfulness is preferred.
  • Mini yogis and parent/guardian will be asked to practice towards the back of the class for better focus.
  • Mini yogis are not permitted to attempt any headstands, handstands or other advanced inversions.
  • We ask that the mini yogi be quietly respectful of the space and other students.
  • At the conclusion of the class the teacher may give the parent / guardian feedback for the suitability of the mini yogi attending further classes at Westside Yoga.
